This Privacy Policy explains what information Cardie ("the App," "we," "us") collects, how it's used, and the choices you have. Cardie is developed by The Sensation Project.

Information We Collect

Account information (via Sign in with Google). If you choose to sign in with your Google account, Google shares your name, email address, and profile picture with Cardie. We use this information solely to create and manage your Cardie account and to personalize your experience within the app (for example, showing your name).

Account information (via email and password). If you create an account with an email address and password instead, we collect the email address you provide. Your password is handled directly by our authentication provider (Firebase Authentication) and is never visible to us in plain text.

Study content. The flashcards, decks, notes, and study schedule you create in Cardie are stored locally on your own device. We do not upload or store your study content on our servers.

AI-assisted flashcard generation (optional). If you use Cardie's optional AI flashcard generation feature, the text you submit for that request is sent securely to our backend and forwarded to our AI provider (OpenAI) solely to generate flashcards in response. That text is used only to fulfill your request and is not retained by us afterward.

How We Use Information

• To create, secure, and let you sign in to your Cardie account
• To personalize the app with your name and profile picture, if provided
• To generate flashcards when you use the optional AI generation feature
• To provide customer support if you contact us

What We Don't Do

We do not sell your personal information to anyone, for any purpose. We do not use your account information for advertising, and we do not share your study content with third parties.

Sharing of Information

We share information only as needed to operate the app:

• Google / Firebase Authentication — to let you sign in and to keep your account secure
• OpenAI — only when you use the optional AI flashcard generation feature, and only the text you submit for that request

Data Security

Account authentication is handled by Firebase Authentication, a service operated by Google. We take reasonable measures to protect the information we do handle, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

Your Choices

You can sign out of Cardie at any time from the Account screen. To request deletion of your account or any information associated with it, contact us using the details below.

Children's Privacy

Cardie is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do.
